Margaret Young February 8, 1921 - October 31, 2016 Young, Margaret Jane (McGarry), age 65 died on Oct 31, 2016. She was born on Feb 8 1921 to Lawrence and Mary McGarry in Bellshill Scotland. Margaret grew up in Scotland and was raised by an older sister Jane Lenzie after her parents both died, leaving her orphaned in childhood. She grew up developing a strong work ethic in the family fish & chip shop until WWII broke out when she joined the WAAFs. She packed parachutes along with the other women in the air force and she served her country proudly! She met the love of her life when both were on leave one Scottish night at a dance in Hollytown Scotland. They married in 1945 and Margaret followed Pep to Canada as a "War Bride", and lifelong friendships were born on the long ocean journey. She was a proud mother of seven children. Meals were always room for one more, just add another potato to the pot! Laundry was a daily occurrence. There wasn't a stain she couldn't get out. Faith was very important to Margaret. She was a devote Roman Catholic and never missed mass on Sunday. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Mary McGarry, her husband Emmanuel "Pep" Young, & daughter, Gail Colquhoun. She is survived by Garry (Dianne), James Colquhoun, Brian (Donna)Young, Moira(Rick)Young, Teree Young, Jack(Carol)Young, Maggie Silzer, along with her grandchildren; Sean, Cameron, JJ, Jason, Justin, Rachelle, Breandan, Addison, Jacquelin, Garrett, Angela, Anton, Hilary, Savanna, Kaitee, Danielle and eight great grand children.
