Maria Mederios Broome "Connie" CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Maria Mederios Broome "Connie", of Charlotte, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 7th, 2016, at the age of 86. She was born on January 1st, 1930 in Portugal. Connie loved to crochet and made beautiful blankets and hats for her friends and grandchildren. She also loved to go shopping. Her favorite place to go was Sam's Club. Everywhere she went, she made a friend. She also enjoyed taking day trips with her niece, Carol. She loved flowers and definitely had a green thumb. She had a large sunroom filled with various plants that thrived under her care. She loved her yard as well and had numerous trees, shrubs and plants. She had a beautiful Japanese persimmon tree that was one of her favorites. Connie lived for her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was always happy when they came to visit. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bobby Harrison Broome. She adored him and never wanted to leave his side. She is also survived by her daughter, Sherry Broome Whitley and husband Charles; her granddaughters Christina Freeman and husband Gregory; Hali Cook and husband Collin; Allison Tzuanos; Kayla and Jessica Whitley; her four great-grandchildren Silas, Brantley, Kyle and Gabriel; her niece Carol Ross; nephew Jerry Ross and wife Donna.
