Mary Mae AhnstedtJanuary 24, 1924 - August 14, 2016Mary Mae Ahnstedt, 92, of Fruitland, Idaho, formerly of New Plymouth went to be with the Lord, on Sunday August 14th, 2016. Celebration of Life will be held Thursday August 18th at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in New Plymouth. Pastor Phil Pittman and Pastor Russ Steiner will officiate. Interment will follow at Park View Cemetery in New Plymouth. Viewing will be held at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in New Plymouth from 4-6 pm on Wednesday August 17th. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Condolences may be made to Mary's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.comMary Mae was born on January 24, 1924 in Haxtun, Colorado to Addie and Edward Monk. In 1940 she married Lennie Paul Ahnstedt. To this marriage, their daughters Cherie and Bobbie were born. In 1947, they moved from Colorado to New Plymouth, Idaho where they farmed until 1998.Mary Mae worked on the farm while raising their two daughters. She was very active in the First Baptist Church of New Plymouth for 69 years. She served the Lord in many capacities including Treasurer, and she sang in the choir for many years. Mary Mae and Lennie spent 25 years being snowbirds in Arizona where she spent several years volunteering at the Coolidge Elementary School.She enjoyed cooking and baking for family gatherings. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and grandkids. She leaves behind her two daughters, Cherie (Denny) Skogerboe and Bobbi (Dean) Cross. Four grandchildren, Lennette (Dave) Meyer, Mike Cross, Tonya (Fred) Grant and Kim (Scott) Reinecker, seven great grandchildren, Kim (Chad) Leatherman, Quinton (Tasha) Beams, Owen, Eva and Camille Cross, Jacob and Sarah Reinecker, six great-great grandchildren, Randen Rostock and Keria Rostock, Eric and Bennett (Torres), Lennon and Jhett Beams.Cherie and Bobbie express their gratitude to Spring Creek Assisted Living for the loving care given to their mother.To honor Mary Mae's memory, memorials may be made to the Idaho State Commission for the Blind, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O.
