Mary Jane GrayMemphis, TNMiss Mary Jane Gray, beloved older sister of the Gray girls, admired aunt and precious daughter, passed away peacefully at Kirby Pines Manor on March 31. She was 76. She is survived by her sisters Susan McInnis; and Elizabeth Seymour and brother-in-law Gene Seymour; nieces Marilee McInnis; and Elizabeth Etheredge and husband Chris; nephew Roger McInnis and wife Catherine; and multiple great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth Clarke and Mary Scruggs Gray; her brother-in-law, Roger McInnis; and her nephew, Jeffrey Seymour. Services will be held at Memorial Park at 11:30 AM on Friday, April 7. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM.Mary Jane "Janie" Gray was born on August 18, 1940, in Memphis, Tennessee, while her father was serving in World War II. Mary Jane graduated from Messick High School in 1959 and attended Lambuth College. Mary Jane worked for the Tennessee Department of Employment Security for 37 years, retiring with distinction in 1998. She was a dedicated member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority with more than 25 years of perfect attendance and honored in the Golden Circle for her 50-year membership. The Preceptor Alpha Nu Chapter remained steadfast friends through the years, as did so many in her Kirby Pines family. Mary Jane loved to travel, sing in the Choir at Second Presbyterian Church and play rousing games of UNO. Mary Jane and her beautiful smile and courageous, sweet spirit will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but we take comfort in her abiding faith in Jesus Christ and knowing she is walking free and happy by his side.If desired, memorials can be made to Second Presbyterian Church's Martha Mary Circle at
