Matthew Allen Johnson

SEDALIA — Matthew Allen Johnson, 32, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016.

He was born on October 30, 1983, in Sedalia, a son of Mark Johnson and Sorita (Keele) Walter. On September 18, 2010, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Sedalia, he married Jessica Barkacs, who survives.

Matthew was a 2002 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He was a baptized and confirmed member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his family, fishing, working on and building computers, working outside, KC Chiefs, boating on the lake, four-wheeling, and was especially passionate about music.

Matt is survived by his wife Jessica Johnson; three sons Blaine Dedman, Spencer Johnson and Christian Johnson; his parents Barry and Sorita Walter; a brother Ryan Walter; grandmother Judy Keele and grandparents Wiley and Helen Walter; his godmothers Debbie Jarvis and Debbie Joy; and his many wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Johnson; grandparents Carl & Velma Johnson and grandfather Jim Keele.

Visitation will be 5:30pm-7:30pm, Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.

Memorial service will be 10:00 am, Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Our Savior Lutheran Church with the Rev. Chris Kellogg and Rev. Andrew Tessone officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be his sons, Blaine, Spencer and Christian. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
