Maxie Forbes DennehyShreveport, LAMaxie Forbes Dennehy, 95, passed away on November 5, 2016, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born on July 6, 1921 in Marion County, Mississippi and raised in the Darbun community. Maxie graduated from Marion-Walthall High School in 1938 and later from Jackson Business School. She worked for the U.S. Army Air Corps in Long Beach, CA during World War II, at the Mississippi Military District in Jackson, Overton Brooks V.A. Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana and retired from the V.A. Medical Center in Houston, Texas in 1981. She was a resident at Lakebend in Brandon, Mississippi from 1982-2003 and at The Oaks of Louisiana in Shreveport for the past 13 years. Maxie was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years Charles Dennehy of Hingham, Massachusetts; her parents, J. Walter and Lou Bracey Forbes; sisters, Kathleen Forbes Ackerman and Jerry Forbes Priest; and brother, Troy Forbes of the Darbun community in Marion County, Mississippi.She is survived by her son, Robert Charles Dennehy of Shreveport; nephew, Thomas Priest; nieces, Angela Priest and Gina Priest Stovall (Tra); grandnieces, Savannah and Jolynn Stovall; and brother-in-law, Bobby Priest of Marion County, Mississippi.A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016, 10AM at Foxworth Cemetery in Foxworth, Mississippi.The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Willis-Knighton Medical Center (North)- Floors 3-North, 3-West, and 4-West for their compassionate care; and a very special thanks to Ella Mosby, Ruby Frazier and Rowena Amerson.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made to the .
