Maxine (Mackie) Hickox1928 - 2014Maxine (Mackie) Hickox, 86, of Boise, died on Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2014 at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Dry Creek Cemetery.Maxine was born on February 8, 1928 in Nampa, Idaho to Elmore and Mattie McLellan. After completion of High School Maxine married Darrell Hickox in Winnemucca, Nevada in 1949. Together they lived in Nampa and Boise, Idaho. Maxine worked in the Student Union Building at BSU in the Food Service department as well as being a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, shoe shopping, knitting and loved her cats. She had a special interest in BSU football games, grandchildren's special events, volunteering at church and having lunch with her girlfriends. She was a member of the Methodist Church.Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Darrell and her parents.She is survived by her sons, Randy (Debbie) Hickox, and Mark (Diane) Hickox; grandchildren, Riley Hickox, Amy (Andrew) Tate, Ben Hickox, Jen Hickox; great-grandchild, Annabelle Hickox; brother, Don (Phyllis) McLellan and sister, Erma Jean Gourley.Special thanks to Heart'n Home Hospice and Hillcrest Assisted Living for the passion and caring they showed during this time and to all the wonderful, caring family & friends who visited and meant so much to Maxine.
