SauerNov. 11, 1984 - Nov. 22, 2016SOUTH BEND - Michael Anthony Sauer, 32, of South Bend, formerly of Lakeville, entered the gates of heaven unexpectedly at 3:12 a.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at Walnut Group Home, South Bend. Michael was born on November 11, 1984. Adopted by his parents at the age of 5 months, he was the greatest gift God could have ever blessed them with.Michael is survived by his parents, Danny L. and Cheri J. Sauer of Lakeville, IN; grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Sauer of Lakeville, IN, and Joe and Sally Bottorff of Plymouth, IN; and aunts and uncles, Randy (Connie) Sauer, Jay (Justine) Sauer, Annette (Tom) Einspahr, Michael (Kelley) Sauer, David Sauer, Terri Dixon and Barry (Sarah) Bottorff. Many cousins and extended family also survive. He was preceded in death by his Uncle Wayne M. Dixon.From the beginning, Michael faced many challenges and his loving parents were his strongest advocate. Many angels came into his life from loving family members, friends, Logan Early Intervention Services, School Years with J.E.S.S.E. Corporation Special Ed Services and Logan Adult Day and Group Home Services. Our family cannot begin to thank all of the people who recognized the fun-loving and humorous special person that he was.Things that brought great joy to Michael were riding horses at Reins of Life, campfires in the back yard, going camping and vacationing in Wisconsin, and Disney. He also had a great love for combines and tractors.Michael never went anywhere without his bubble wrap and laminated pictures from items that he chose from the Sunday Ads. He loved to watch the Golden Girls, The Hour of Power with Dr. Robert Schuller, and Jeopardy. He also loved his Mr. Potato Head, the light up Mr. and Mrs. Santa, and his Notre Dame Wind Sock.Michael had special Love names for his family members: Hose, Pillow, Moo Cow, Piano, Baby, Booney, Hummy, Lawnmower, Blue Light and Chainsaw.We miss our Angel but we know he is in the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2016, at Lakeville United Methodist Church, 610 N. Michigan St., Lakeville, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at Bremen Cemetery, Bremen, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Lakeville United Methodist Church and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
