MICHAEL ALAN DECKER Mike Decker, 60, died November 18, 2016, at his home in Kennewick, after a valiant 2 year battle with a brain tumor (GBM). He was born on November 26, 1955, in Prosser, WA, to Truman and Juanita Decker. Mike met his future wife in 1975 in Seattle. They relocated to the Tri-Cities and remained there until his death. He married Kathleen "KC" Christenson on July 1st, 1978 in Coeur d'Alene, ID. Michael loved to snow ski with his family and ride the Bluewood Ski Bus with friends. He enjoyed countless hours tinkering on cars and going to car shows and swap meets with his son. "Papa" adored taking his granddaughters to Bethel Church in Richland. He was a member of Teamsters Local 839 for 38 years. After retiring Mike started a lawn care business; he enjoyed spending time outdoors and making new friends. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 38 years KC, his faithful daughter Lisa, and son Colby (Annalene) all of Kennewick; his brothers Ken (Gladys) of Placentia, CA, and Bill (Lennie) of Pasco. His granddaughters Maddy and Macie Decker were the light of his life. He also leaves behind his precious kitten Penny, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Juanita, sister Beulah, and brother Leon. A memorial service will be held November 26, 2016, at Bethel Church in The Gallery, 600 Shockley Road, Richland at 3 pm. The family extends special thanks to nurses and caregivers who occasionally received Mike's "stink eye". Friends from the City of Kennewick, supported the family with donated leave and countless warm meals during Mike's illness. Thanks to Three Seasons Book Club for their relentless support along the way and to Benton PUD friends for assistance with "The Move".
