Michael Leon Sanders, 61, of Defiance, Ohio passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at his residence.He was born on Jan. 26, 1953 to Charles and Violet (nee Rollins) Sanders in Defiance.Michael worked for the Campbell Soup Company for 23 years. He loved fishing, boating, hiking, camping and traveling. Michael enjoyed meeting and talking with people, and especially helping them. He loved reading, especially about history. Michael was a happy, caring, understanding man and enjoyed discussing political issues. He was also an animal lover and will be sadly missed by his dog, "Rocky."Michael is survived by his fiancée, Sheree L. Sanders of Defiance; stepson Gabriel (Sarah Babb) Cline of Defiance; his best friend, Scottie Parent of Oscoda; and friend "The Professor."He was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral services were held on Friday, Aug. 1, at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance with Apostle O'Michael Smith officiating.
