Miguel Solorio of Alamogordo passed away on Oct. 7, 2016. Miguel was born on Oct. 1, 1922. He was born in Torreon Coahuila, Mexico to Francisco Solorio and Tomas Mendias. Miguel was preceded in death by his wife, Antonia Solorio of 50 years, and a son, Juan Manuel Sanchez. He is survived by four daughters: Patricia Gonzales and her two children, Selena and Ryan Gonzales; Bertha and her husband, Carsten Bechthum and her children, Gilbert, Andrew, Jordan and Mariah Guilez; Rosalia Solorio and her children, Oscar, Brenda, the late Javier, Cristina, Judy and Carlos Schubert; Elena and her husband, Inez Cabello and their children, Lulu, Lorenzo, Jorge and Jose Cabello. In addition, Miguel had ten sons: Alfredo and children, Alexus, Ariana, Alfredo Jr., Ezra Solorio; Ricardo and his children, Vanessa, Sabrina, Brittany and Ricky Solorio; Miguel and his wife, Rosa, and their children, Yvonne and Denise Solorio; Gerardo and his wife, Sylvia, and their children, Gerardo, Marcos and Tania Solorio; Ismael and his children, Sylvia, Sandra and Susana Solorio; Francisco and his wife, Margarita, and their children, Francisco Jr. and Fabian Solorio; Mario and his wife, Pocha, and their children, Elena, Fatima and Mario Jr. Solorio; Raul and his children, Raul and Andres Solorio; Jesus and his wife, Graciela, and their children, Edward, Vivirana and ArisBet Solorio; Gilbert and his children, Krystal and Ruby Valdez. Miguel had many, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Miguel worked as a diesel mechanic at Holloman Air Force Base for many years. He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church. He was also a member of the Guadalupanas as well as the church prayer group. Miguel loved reading but his favorite was his Bible and religious literature. He was a kind and compassionate man who loved his wife, family and grandchildren very much. He enjoyed working on his lawn, trees and gardening with his wife. Miguel was loved by many and he will be dearly missed. Forever loved, forever missed, never forgotten. On this earth for just a short while, but your memory will never leave us! The family will greet friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The family will recite the Rosary for Miguel Solorio at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
