SNYDER, MURIEL F.SNYDER , MURIEL F. Age 90 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Friday May 26 , 2017 at Seneca View Nursing Home. Muriel was born on September 15, 1926 in Medina, NY the daughter of the late Arthur J. and Johanna Schaap Derleth. She married her husband Frederick William Snyder on June 17, 1945 and he pre-deceased her on May 11, 1990. She was a communicant of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY. Mrs. Snyder was a Real Estate Agent, a clerk at Elmira Drug, and an avid Girl Scout Leader for over 20 years. She was also pre-deceased by her brother Arthur J. "Bud" Derleth and her sister Marie Hulbert. Mrs. Snyder is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Larry E. and Karen M. Snyder of Horseheads, NY; daughter and son-in-law: Sue and George Brown of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren: Christina and Kevin Russell of Horseheads, NY; Sabrina Chilson of Pine Valley, NY; Lucas Brown of Horseheads, NY; Elisabeth and Michael Bostwick of Horseheads, NY; great grandchildren: Samantha and Skyler Russell; Julian and Nolan Bostwick; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of caring friends. The family extends their gratitude and thanks to the Nurses, Doctors, and Staff at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility and Schuyler Hospital for their compassionate care of their mother. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Tuesday May 30, 2017 from 5-8PM. A Prayer Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday May 31, 2017 at 9AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 10AM at St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, NY with the Rev. Lew Brown as Celebrant. Mrs. Snyder will be laid to rest in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery next to her beloved husband Fred.
