Nancy P. Widmer MADISON-Nancy P. Widmer, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013. She was born on April 17, 1923, in Racine, the daughter of Robert J. and Mildred E. (Van Wie) Widmer. Nancy graduated from the UW-Madison, earning a bachelor’s of science degree in Art Education. She began her career in advertising design and freelance art work in Chicago and returned to the Madison area in 1990. Nancy loved the designing aspect of the advertising industry, she spent countless hours creating fun and unique ads for her clients. She was truly talented in her arts and at silk screening among other things. Nancy had also worked at a service club organization for American soldiers in Germany during the 1950’s. She was an adventurous spirit who enjoyed traveling in Europe, Austria and across country. Nancy was a member of Luther Memorial Church, Madison. She is survived by her brother Robert Widmer and many wonderful family members. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial Services will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 9, 2013 with the Reverend Brad Pohlman presiding, where a reception will follow the service. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
