Linsmeier, Norbert R.Norbert R. Linsmeier, age 77, of Valders, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center of Manitowoc.Norbert was born on June 6, 1940 in Cato, son of the late Frank and Mary (Irlbeck) Linsmeier. He attended St. Michael's School, Whitelaw and graduated with the class of 1958 from Valders High School. Norbert served his country for six years reaching the rank of Sergeant in the United States Army. On August 24, 1963, he married the former Dorothy E. La Plant at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Marinette. Norbert worked for the Village of Valders for 33 years as a police officer, ambulance attendant (EMT 686), fireman, utility operator and was a volunteer in the Boy Scouts and the Manitowoc County Health & Rehabilitation Center. He also was a Right to Life member his whole life. He enjoyed playing cards with his wife, grandchildren and special friends. Survivors include his wife of 54 years: Dorothy Linsmeier, Valders; one daughter: Jody (Jeff) Erdman, Manitowoc; three sons: Kevin (Lisa) Linsmeier, De Forest; Mark (Glenda) Linsmeier, Manitowoc; Karl Linsmeier, Green Bay; six grandchildren: Zachary; Autumn; Andrea; Jeffrey, Jr.; Jessica; all from Manitowoc; and Allison, Green Bay; one brother: Francis Linsmeier, Cato; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Margaret (Paul) Neuser, Manitowoc; Theresa (James) Toedter, FL; two sisters-in-law: Martha Linsmeier, Cato; Rita Brochtrup, Manitowoc; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Derral (Jane) La Plant, MN; Marvel (Diane) La Plant, Marinette, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Mary Linsmeier; four brothers and three sisters-in-law: Joseph Linsmeier; Alois (Elaine) Linsmeier; Clement Linsmeier; Christopher Linsmeier; Marie Linsmeier; Patricia Siebold; one sister and brother-in-law: Catherine (Edward) Goehring; father and mother in-laws: Francis and Eleanor La Plant; special cousins: Frank and Margie Pitra.Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 110 West Menasha Avenue, Whitelaw. Rev. Richard Klingeisen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow at the Linsmeier family plot in the parish cemetery.
