Opal Faith Bollinger (Harned) Martin, 99, longtime resident of Bartlesville, passed away on Sunday, November 20th, 2016 at Heritage Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Bartlesville, Ok.Opal Faith Bollinger Martin was born on September 29, 1917 at Perryton, Texas to John P. and Jennie May (Pray ) Bollinger. She grew up and received her education, graduating from Perryton High School in 1935.In 1942 Opal, along with her family, moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where she attended the Success Secretarial School, studying under the teachings of her sister, Flossie Neet. Upon the completion of her business education, she was employed by Reda Pump Company as a Junior Supervisor. In 1945, she began employment with Phillips Petroleum Company in the Purchasing Department, later transferring to Public Affairs where she became an Art Director/Designer/Photographer in the Graphic Arts Section. Opal was also known for her art, having studied under several art instructors including the Art Institute in Manitou Springs, Colorado. Later, she became interested in and studied photography, becoming known for her many slide presentations given to churches, clubs and various other organizations.Opal married Ralph E. Harned on August 26, 1950 who preceded her in death on April 13, 1975. On May 3, 1980, she married Charles L. Martin, a Phillips employee of the Marketing Department, who preceded her in death on June 24, 2007.She retired from Phillips on May 1, 1982 after 37 years of service. Opal was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and Bartlesville Photographic Association.Survivors include several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jennie Bolinger, two husbands, Ralph Harned and Charles Martin, three brothers, Roby, Paul, and Eldon Bollinger, and one sister, Flossie Neet.Come and go visitation will be Monday November 21, 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, November 22 at 1:00 pm. at Memorial Park Cemetery, Reverend Loren Rovenstine will officiate.Arrangements are under the direction of the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.
