HAMILTON — Pauline Ann 'Polly' Racy, 81 years, of Hamilton, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015, at the Laurels of DeKalb in Butler, Indiana. Polly was born on June 19, 1934, in Hamilton, Indiana, a daughter of the late Clyde A. and Reba L. (Helms) Rohleder. She was a 1952 graduate of Hamilton High School and continued her education at the college level. Polly worked within her home but also worked as a waitress for several area restaurants, including the Mixing Bowl in Hamilton. She is a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church, Psi Rho Sorority and the Hamilton Fish and Game Club. Polly was known to have a beautiful singing voice. She always volunteered her time to help others no matter what the task. She had the gift of "never knowing a stranger" and made others feel welcome and accepted with ease. She also found great joy in reading. Surviving are her two sons, Brett Racy of Prescott Valley, Arizona, and Scott Racy of Lighthouse Point, Florida; five grandchildren, Alex Racy, Emily Racy, James Racy, Ryan Racy and Brandon Racy; and one sister, Pat (MacLynn) Oberlin of Hamilton, Indiana. Polly was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter-in-law, Nila Racy. Services to be held at a later date.
