Rachel Darden Hill, 79, of Tuscarora died Oct. 3, 2013, at home from acute leukemia.
She was born on March 14, 1934, in Lenoir County.
She is survived by her husband, James Aubrey Hill; two sons, James G. Hill and wife Janet of New Bern, Darrell Scott Hill of Burgaw; one daughter, Lisa Hill DelGuercio and husband Joseph of LaGrange; one sister, Effie Rae Harper of Kinston; one great-grandson, Cameron McSorley of New Bern; two nieces, Sherry Harper of Kinston and Betty Lou Sanderson of Albertson.
Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 at Cotten Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7 at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
