Rachel WeisenbergerWAVERLY: Rachel Kim Weisenberger, 61, of Waverly, Ohio died March 15, 2017 at her home. She was born on July 3, 1955 in Portsmouth, Ohio, daughter of the late James Raymond Weisenberger and Julia Jones Weisenberger. Rachel is survived by cousins, Joseph M. Vulgamore and wife Linda of St. Petersburg, Florida; Sally J. McKenna of Roslindale, Massachusetts; Alison Wisnom and husband Rob, and their children Eric and Ava of Kailua, Hawaii; Nick Courtright and wife Katie, and their daughter Lily Ann of Circleville, Ohio; Elizabeth Courtright of Waverly; Gregory McKenna and wife Melissa, and son Ian of Roslindale, Massachusetts; Laura Marquette and Husband Anthony of Roslindale, Massachusetts; Alexandra and Victoria Vulgamore of St. Petersburg, Florida. In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by her Aunt, Joan Vulgamore of Waverly, Ohio, and cousin, Ann V. Courtright of Waverly, Ohio. Rachel enjoyed a full life with family and friends. She enjoyed attending Broadway plays and concerts, talking politics, educating others, and enjoyed helping people. She was a bright light and loved to have fun. Although Rachel had no children of her own, she adored her cousins and cherished their times together. She has a way of communicating with people that is difficult to explain. Rachel made friends easily with a big smile and a friendly personality. She was a people person, as well as, a leader. Rachel retired from her position at Bank One and returned to Waverly, where she started her own jewelry business, becoming well known for her handmade artistic designs, "My Heart to You." She was also talented at creating a variety of cards, photographs, and writing both stories and poetry. Rachel became a leader at the Pike Arts Guild and the Market Arts Center where she volunteered her time and provided financial support. Rachel enjoyed working with children and providing them with the place to learn and expand their art at the center. Her love for her pets was so evident, as she continued to help with rescues and Pike Pet Pals.Rachel currently worked for the Pike County Commissioners as Pike County Airport Manager and also Director of Pike County Emergency Management Agency. Rachel was a member of Sigma Phi Gamma International Sorority. She moved through all the chairs and held the title of president. As Leader, she put all her energy into making the club one of the best. Rachel was a member of Waverly Chapter 99, Order of Eastern Star, and Waverly Garden Club. She remained active in the community and had a large impact on many lives. A Celebration of Life that will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at New Covenant Church of Christ and Christian Union in Waverly. Family and friends are encouraged to speak about the life, passions, and love that Rachel shared with her community.
