Stieg Sr., Raymond Gene "Ray"Raymond Gene "Ray" Stieg, age 64, of Oshkosh, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on April 28, 1953 in Oshkosh a son of the late Victor Carl and Luella Ruth (Wing) Stieg Sr. Ray proudly served his country for 23 years a retired from the US Navy. He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, cribbage, camping and time spent with his family and friends. Ray is survived by and his memory will be cherished by his wife, Rebecca; two sons, Raymond Gene (Jodi) Stieg Jr. and Robert Adam (Jenny) Stieg, both of Michigan; brothers, Victor (Sandy) Stieg Jr., Greg (Jackie) Stieg, Drew St. James, Jeffrey (Brenda) Stieg Sr., Dale Reynolds Jr.; sisters, Kathryn (Clement Jr.) Goodacre, Cindy Miller and LeAnn Rivera. He is further survived by six grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephew, other relatives and many dear friends. Special friends, Glen and Barb and everyone at City Cab. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Joseph Miller; first wife, Sue Ann (Boras) Stieg; mother-in-law, Nancy Ferranti and a great-nephew, Zachery Carl Peters. Funeral services for Ray will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 12 noon in the Poklasny Funeral Home, 870 W. South Park Ave. in Oshkosh with the Rev. Tim Greenwald officiating. Full military honors will follow the service. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established. The family wishes a special thank you to Debbie for her selfless act of holding Ray in her arms until help arrived.
