Richard (Junie) Marquezventura, CARichard (Junie) Marquez, 78, of Ventura passed on December 31st, 2016. Junie was born on November 3, 1938 to Robelo and Della Marquez and was a life time resident of Ventura and part of the Tortilla Flats community. He worked for the City of Ventura Street Department from 1969 to 1999. He was a faithful San Francisco 49ers and San Francisco Giants fan. He coached baseball for many years from Little League to Babe Ruth.While coaching Babe Ruth in the late seventies he won three consecutive city championships with the Downtown Lions, something that he was very proud of. During and after coaching he umpired for Ventura Coast baseball in Ventura. He also loved to bowl, but most of all he loved and cherished all his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife Linda Marquez; sons Chris Marquez, Roger and Eric Williams and daughters Kari Province, Kim Rogers, and Wendy Beaudry, all of Ventura. Seister Tenchie Molina and nephew Bobby Escobar, also of Ventura; 8 grandchildren; Amber, Kristi, Amanda, Jordyn, Robert, David, Daniel and Matthew. Great grandchildren; Kali, Kaleb, Kylee, Brody, Kennedy, Kenzie and Kadin. He was preceded in death by his parents Robelo and Della Marquez and son Christopher Kevin Williams. A celebration of his life will be held on January 15, 2017 at 12 noon at The Church of the Nazarene 365 S. Seaward Ave., Ventura.The family would like to thank Coastal View Healthcare, especially Rita; Oakhurst Hospice, Coast Cities Cremations and Dr. Arthur Inshita for their loving care.
