Sloniker, RichardRichard Sloniker, 67, Ashwaubenon, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from Parkinson's Disease. He was born on May 16, 1949, in Stevens Point, the son of Justin and Arlene (Will) Sloniker. Dick graduated from Southwest High School in 1967.In 1971, Dick graduated from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, he was a test engineer at Underwriters Laboratories, Northbrook, IL.On July 8, 1972, Dick married Diane Duquette at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Green Bay. They shared 44 wonderful years together.In January 1977, he returned to Green Bay and was employed at Thilmany Pulp and Paper Company, Kaukauna, as Project Engineer until his retirement.Dick enjoyed swimming, sailing, windsurfing, tennis and gardening. He would look forward to his annual summer vacation in St. Germain, WI and Duquette family reunions in different regions of the country. Dick was a member of Western Racquet and Fitness Club and was a former member of High Cliff Yacht Club.He is survived by his wife, Diane; his two children and their spouses: Rhiana and Alexander Hubbard III, Cincinnati, OH; Justin and Jennifer Sloniker, Casco, WI; his two granddaughters, Alina Shaye and Alari Skye Hubbard. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Benthe Sloniker, Cherry Valley, IL, Gary and Peggy Sloniker, Lincoln, NE; his sister and her significant other, Mary Sloniker and John Sturdy, Green Bay; mother-in-law, Phyllis Duquette, Green Bay; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Doreen and Tom Patzke, Sobieski, WI; nieces, Amanda Sloniker, Leah Arendt, Ashley Bundy, Kate Sloniker, Kristy Warden and a nephew, Colin Sloniker as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins and special friend, Peter Olson, Green Bay.Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Justin and Arlene (Will) Sloniker; his grandparents; father-in-law, Bernard Duquette and aunts and uncles.Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 1. A Prayer Service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may also call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth Street from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 2. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. Patrick C. Beno officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
