Brown, Rita M. ROUND LAKE Rita M. Brown, 95, former longtime resident of Round Lake, died on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy surrounded in the loving care of her family. She was born on Christmas day, December 25, 1920, in Plattsburgh, and the daughter of the late John Baptiste and Flora Gonyea Oshier. She was a graduate of Morrisonville High School in Morrisonville, N.Y. and was the beloved wife of the late James R. Brown, who died on March 16, 1996. They were married on July 5, 1941. Rita retired from Aetna Casualty Insurance Co. in Albany as a claims specialist after many years of service. She was a faithful and active member of the Round Lake United Methodist Church. She was the devoted mother of Ronald (Yuko) and Arthur (Pam) who predeceased her, and Harriet (Nicky) Naushahi of Cohoes, Carol Mercier of Troy and Janice Sawicki of Titusville, Fla.; also survived by 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by all of siblings. The funeral will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Round Lake United Methodist Church. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Eastline Cemetery in Round Lake.
