HARRISBURG Robert B. Mummert, 77, passed away at his home on Friday, April 18, 2014. He was born on May 7, 1936, to the late Paul E. and Grace I. Mummert in Hanover. Robert worked for J.C. Penney for 45 years before his retirement. Robert loved living on the riverfront in Shipoke and took pleasure in its natural beauty. He loved traveling, history, railroad, and cars. Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia A. Ryon; and his two sisters, Betty Mummert and Sue Ann Hahn. Robert is survived by his beloved wife Christine E. Mummert; his daughter, Connie Nonemaker and husband Joel; his brother, Carroll Mummert and wife Judy; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the Black Rock Church of the Brethren, 3864 Glenville Road, Glenville, PA 17329 at 11 a.m. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to the Chestnut Grove Cemetery Fund, C/O Black Rock Church of the Brethren, 3864 Glenville Road, Glenville, PA 17329.
