Robert J "Bob" Ubelhor82, of Lafayette, IN passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at St Vincent's Hospice in Indianapolis. Bob was born on August 17, 1934 in Lafayette, IN to John and Fern (Jackson) Ubelhor. He graduated from Jeff High School in 1953. On July 2, 1955 he married his high school sweetheart Barbara Ann Brickler.Bob worked in various production management rolls at Peerless Wire Goods and Consolidated Industries, Lafayette, IN; Arvin Industries, Seymour, IN and Monticello, AR and finally transferring to Chicago, IL where he retired in 1996 from Amco. Bob was an active member of the Jaycees in Seymour, IN and received the Citizen of the Month Award from the Seymour Chamber of Commerce in 1970.Bob loved to spend time with his family and friends and frequently vacationed in Cancun Mexico together. He was a member of St. Ann's Church and loved reading, playing cards, and walking at the mall.Bob is survived by his children, Patricia Stratton (husband Chuck) of Naperville, IL, Robert Ubelhor, Jr. (wife Sheila) of Montgomery, IL, Ann Stech (husband Bill) of Naperville, IL, Ed Ubelhor (wife Aruna) of Naperville, IL, Joe Ubelhor of Chicago, IL and Tom Ubelhor (wife Melissa) of Aurora, IL; grandchildren Mari King, Justin Stech, Swetha Ubelhor, Casi Carter, Daniella Ubelhor, Patrick Ubelhor, and Elizabeth Ubelhor; as well as brother David Ubelhor of Lafayette, IN; loving friend Carol Smith of Lafayette, IN.Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann (Brickler) Ubelhor and grandsons Joshua Stech and Jeremy Murray.Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20, 2017 at St. Ann's Church at 10 a.m. Interment will be scheduled later in the spring/summer.In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations in the name of Robert Ubelhor may be made to St. Vincent's Hospice, 8450 N.
