Rocco JerryPoughkeepsie, NY - Rocco Jerry of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away at his home on June 14th 2017 at the age of 97. A native of Pageton, West Virginia, he was born on October 28, 1919 and was the son of the late Vito Gesotti and Antionette Benedetto who were born in Bari, Italy. He is predeceased by sister Jenny Ripo and brother Philip Gesotti. Rocco graduated from Gary High School, Gary, West Virginia. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a radio operator during World War II. After the war, he returned to McDowell County and worked in the shipping department in the US Steel & Coal Company for many years. In June 19th, 1957, he married the late Beatrice Conte at Our Lady of the Victory Catholic Church in West Virginia and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage. They moved to Poughkeepsie in 1963 and he worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 years. He was a devoted family man who was very proud of his children and grandchildren and was also a devout Catholic and a long-time parishioner at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Poughkeepsie, NY. Survivors include his son Rocco A. Jerry and wife Meg of Burnt Hills, NY and his son Frank L. Jerry and wife Karla of Hyde Park, NY; six grandchildren, Marina, Monica, Carmela & Luca Jerry and Francesco & Marco Jerry and nieces and nephews Rose Hatala, John Ripo, Dolores McMahon and Phillip Gesotti, Jr. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary, 99 Inwood Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY on Monday June 19th 2017 at 10:00am . Celebrant will be Father Patrick Curley. Burial will follow in St Peter's Cemetery, 171 Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of the William G.
