Rose Sanders, age 90 was born on May 23, 1935, in Opelousas, LA departed this earthly home on Sunday November 2, 2025. Rose was a faithful parishioner of St. Katharine Drexel C.C. and a domestic worker for many years until her retirement in 2000. She was an avid bingo and card player during her retirement years. Rose was the loving mother of Patricia Sanders, Pamela Sanders, Donald Sanders, Kevin Sanders (Randee) and Shelita Jenkins. Adopted mother of Alyson Melancon. Also survived by 6 grandchildren Niasha Sanders, Bianca Harris, Edwina Meyers (Loretta), Bobby Harris, Michael Karl Lang, Jr. and Trey Kevin Sanders, 7 great-grandchildren Ter'Rence, Cash'Mere, Syna'Mon, Ezell, Randy, Kenz'Lin and Brooke'Lin, 2 godchildren Geneva Merritt and Montiya Thomas and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, family and friends. Rose was preceded in death by her loving husband Edward Sanders, Jr; her parents Berwick Jones and Edna Frank-Jones; her children Sharon, Linda and Vanessa Sanders; her sisters Celestine Jimerson and Evelyn Merritt "Nannie"; and her brothers-in-law Uncle Samuel and Uncle Clinton. Relatives and friends of the family, also Priest and parishioners of St. Katharine Drexel C.C. are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 14,2025, at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church (formerly Holy Ghost C.C.), 2015 Louisiana Avenue at 10:00 a.m. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Mario Rasonabe-SVD, Celebrant. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery. All those in attendance are encouraged to wear a mask .
