ROSIE QUINTERO, 72 FREEPORT - Rosie Quintero, 72, of Freeport passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013, at the Stephenson Nursing Center. She was born on Sept. 21, 1940, in Freeport, the daughter of William and Myrna (Dyson) Veer. Rosie was a retired employee of Micro Switch. Surviving are her husband, Benny Quintero; two sons, William Bumford and Benny (Angel) Quintero; one daughter, Sandra (Sean) Hayes; thirteen grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; sisters, Charity (Dave) Sullivan, Beatrice (late Ruppert) Dean, Grace (Rockie) Heck, Neva (Gene) Barthel, and a special sister, Gloria; brothers, William (Charity) Veer, Frank (Sheri) Veer, Ron Veer, Sam (Sandy) Veer, John (Eileen) Veer, Charles (late Monique) Veer, Ralph (Kathy) Veer, Ernie (Shirley) Veer, and Karl (Evelyn) Veer; and many special nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the Stephenson Nursing Center and Hospice. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at the First Church of The Nazarene, with Pastor John W. Hollis officiating. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Schwarz Park Blvd. Chapel, 608 S. Park Blvd. A memorial has been established in her memory.
