Sievwright, Ruth M.Ruth M. Sievwright, age 83, of Stevens Point, died Friday, October 27, 2017 at Willow Brooke Point Senior Living in Stevens Point.Ruth was born on March 6, 1934 to the late Harry E. & Ruth (Fulton) Sievwright in Stevens Point, WI. She attended St. Stephens's grade school and graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1952. She went on to Western Union School in Crawfordsville, IN and finished her training at the Stevens Point WU (Western Union) Office. Due to downsizing, Ruth transferred to WU Milwaukee a couple years later to work in the Technical Service Division. She lived in Minneapolis, Elk Grove, IL and Chicago, IL. After 31 years, Ruth retired from her job and returned to live in her hometown of Stevens Point. For the next twenty seven years, she was a companion for her sister, Marjorie. She was a great friend and caregiver as Aunt Marge lived to age 98. Always a person to be busy, Ruth worked part time at Figi's, made quilts for the Hmong children at McKinley School, provided endless supply of crocheted dish cloths and handmade gifts for family members, collected dolls, worked puzzles, read and taught knitting and crocheting to whomever was interested. Many local restaurants were familiar with the sisters. She was also an avid Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan.She is survived by her sister-in-law, Elizabeth "Lou" Lewellen Sievwright; niece, Margaret Day Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great grandnieces and great grandnephew; cousin, Ralph Sievwright; and many friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry & Ruth. Ruth, being the youngest child, she was called to join her siblings, step-sister, Eleanor Day Hubbard, John (Grace), Marjorie, James (Virginia), Harry (Gladys), Hazel (Asbury) Nix, Robert (Adeline), Jerry, and Earle.A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Rev. Jerzy Rebacz presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will follow the Funeral Mass in St. Stephen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Stephen Catholic Church.The family would like to thank the St Michaels Hospital staff, Dr. Anna Stockhausen, Heartland Hospice, and Willow Brooke Point Senior living for the wonderful care that was given to Ruth. The family would also like to express their appreciation for the support of family and friends.
