Ruth Mae Morris, 89Ruth Morris, of Monticello, formerly of Delphi, passed away on Jan. 9, 2017 at IU Health Arnett in Lafayette. Ruth was born on April 6, 1927 in Savanah, TN to the late Luther and Lillie Ann Lee (White) Dickerson.She married Elgie Morris on June 7, 1943 in Steele, MO and he preceded her on May 3, 1975.Mrs. Morris had worked at RCA in Monticello and Peters-Revington Manufacturing in Delphi before retiring in 1976. She babysat many numerous children in the Delphi area. Mrs. Morris was a member of the New Beginning Southern Baptist Church in Monticello. Ruth enjoyed quilting, gardening, singing, fishing, going to Nashville, TN and visiting with friends and family.She is survived by her children: Ruth Walker (Larry) of Monticello, Lorene Batley (William) and Dorsha Cobbs both of Delphi, Shirley Walker (John) and Jackie Coy (Phil) both of Kokomo, Terry Morris (Judi) and Michael Morris (Brenda) both of Delphi and Rick Morris (Ella) of Monticello; 24 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 22 great great grandchildren.Along with her parents and husband, Elgie, Ruth was preceded by her 7 brothers, 2 sisters, and son-in-law, Ralph Cobbs.Visitation will be at Davidson Funeral Home in Delphi on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. funeral service. Pastor Ross Terry will officiate. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery, Delphi.Memorial Contributions in Ruth's memory may be made to the donor's favorite charity. www.davidsonfh.com
