Arthur, Shirley L. Shirley L. Arthur passed away on October 29, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona. Shirley was born on March 1, 1937 in Missouri and moved to Arizona in 1972 where she worked in the apartment management field and later sold real estate. She became interested in charity work and spent endless hours as a volunteer organizing and collecting any items that were needed --- clothing, food, school supplies, and filling and making Christmas stockings for families and children. Shirley received numerous awards; most notably the Lifetime Achievement Award for Volunteers from St. Vincent de Paul. She sought out those who needed extra help or attention and enjoyed making "her corner of the world a better place than she found it". She was an active member of St. Luke's Catholic Church. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, sister Christine Clifton, brothers-in law, Glen Clifton and Bill Hoskins and her beloved nephew, Kent Corbin. Shirley will be deeply missed by many including her sister, Betty Hoskins; niece, Sherry Wright (both of Platte City, MO) nieces, Judith Kay Corbin, Ann Heckert, Katherine A. Corbin (Phoenix, AZ) and numerous great nieces and nephews and their families. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, November 10th at 10am at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 19644 North 7th Avenue in Phoenix.
