Stephan Copeland Jr., 18, died Friday, July 14, 2017 as a result of gun shot wounds to the chest and stomach. He was born to Stephan Copeland Sr. and Michelle Battle-Copeland, September 17, 1998 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the oldest of his 3 brothers and sisters, Chad, Jason, and Lisa Copeland.

Kevin graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 2016, where he was a member of the student council and the basketball team. He was recently enrolled at Mohawk Valley Community College majoring in computer science.

Stephan is survived by his parents, Stephan and Michelle of Brooklyn; his brother, Chad and his sister, Karen, both at home. He also leaves to honor his memory his maternal grandparents, Harold and Gladys Battle, of Clinton; his paternal grandparents, Philip and Betty Copeland, of Indianapolis. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Victoria Denis, of Atlanta, and his close friends, Devon Hart of New Harford, Peter Taylor, of Mississippi, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Murray Brothers Funeral Home in Atlanta, GA. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and at 10am at Peachtree Christian Church in Atlanta.
