Tom Martin was born on January 12, 1936, in Fresno, CA, to the parents of Henry and Katherine Martin. He passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Tom moved with his family in 1948 to Hanford, CA, where he attended schools, graduating from Hanford High School in 1954. While attending College of the Sequoias, Tom met Marjorie Grant who would later become his wife. After graduating from College of the Sequoias in 1956, he went to work for the family business, Cadwell- Martin Meat Company. When the business was sold in 1969, Tom eventually went to work as a truck driver for Beacon Oil/Valero retiring in 1997. After retirement, Tom and Marge moved to Bass Lake, CA, and did some traveling, visiting all 50 states, the last one being Alaska on their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Marian Crigger. He is survived by Marge, his wife of 59 years; his son Stan; his daughter, Margaret Hervo and her husband Mark; his brother, Robert Martin; his brother-in-law, Galen Grant and wife Claire; and his furry friend Curly. The family would like to thank Hinds Hospice for their kind and wonderful care. At Tom's request, there will be no service.
