Timothy Joe Hovis ROCK HILL, SC - Timothy Joe Hovis, age 52, died at his home on September 7th, 2016, in Rock Hill, SC. Tim was born on January 8, 1964 in Bonne Terre, MO. He was a former Oakdale Fire Department Volunteer, an avid Clemson fan, and passionate about soccer. He worked at General Tire for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing when he had the time. His family and friends will always remember him as a generous and kind hearted person. A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on September 25th, at First Christian Church, 235 Community Street in Rock Hill. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tim's life. Pastor Nic Campbell will officiate. Family will receive friends immediately following the service. Tim is survived by his wife Gretchen of 24 years; step-son Markus Cruse, wife Amy, grandson Braydon; step-son Chavis Cruse; his father Arthur Hovis, of Arnold, MO; his mother Wilma Rapp and step-father Glenn Rapp, of Rock Hill; his brothers Russell (JoAnne) and Roger (Patricia)(Delaney); step-brothers David Ives (Judy), Scott Rapp (Lisa), Sam Sloan (Diane); step-sisters Becki Morgenstern (David) and Cindy Rawson; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
