Tony "Bubu" Cordova, 52, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas,passed away on Feb. 2, 2013 at Alta Vista Regional Hospital in Las Vegas.He was born on June 19, 1960 in Las Vegas to Juan Antonio Cordova and Virginia Mondragon Bustos.He worked at the Hillcrest Restaurant for 28 years as a cook. He enjoyed wood carving, was a jokester, and enjoyed being with family and friends. Tony was an avid Denver Broncos fan. A Catholic and attended Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas. He is preceded in death by his mother: Virginia Mondragon ; son: David Cordova; and step-father: Everly Bustos.He is survived by his special friend: Barbara Martinez of Las Vegas, NM; daughters and sons: Naomi N. Salazar, Antonio Esquibel both of Las Vegas, Abel Cordova and wife Crystal of Albuquerque, and Margarita Gutierrez of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren: Kasey, Albert, Alejandro, Christopher, Michael, David Jr, Kayla, Jaylynn, Xavier, Alize and Liala; sister: Adela Mondragon and husband David Phelps of Albuquerque; nieces: Jamie Govakar and husband Amey, Genny Kuhn; numerous other relatives and many friends.Rosary devotional services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas. Funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father Douglas Mitchell as celebrant and casket bearers will be: Raul Hillard, Gabriel Esquibel, Ramon Esquibel, Russ Taylor, Patrick Tafoya, and Luis Vasquez.
