Vernell EckleyCocoa BeachVernell Eckley, 87-year-old, of Cocoa Beach, FL passed away on February 3, 2017. Vernell was born on April 1, 1929 in Bonifay, FL to Vincie (mother) and Sandy (father) Bush. She was 1 of 16 children and her husband Chuck likes to say that he married the pick of the litter. Vernell had an infectious spirit for life and a fantastic sense of humor. She loved her family fiercely and is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles Eckley, and their two loving sons. She leaves behind her eldest son, Earl Eckley, and his wife, JoAnn Eckley, and their two children Craig and Emily Eckley, and also her younger son, Paul Eckley D.C., and his wife, Micki Eckley, and their daughter, Whisper Andrusiak, and her family including her husband, Ron Andrusiak, and their two children Ava and Lila Andrusiak. Vernell loved spending time with everyone in her family and never missed a chance to cuddle a new baby.Vernell was her name and bridge was her game. She played whenever she could and enjoyed the company of her fellow players.As the wife of a retired military officer and Pan American Airline employee, Vernell and Chuck had a joyful life together. They traveled to 68 countries around the world. Two countries they visited stand out and personify her adventurous spirit. Her famed stories from Egypt where she rode a camel around the Pyramids and from India where she rode on top of an elephant while visiting the Taj Majal are family favorites.
