Peters , Veronica M.Veronica M. Peters, 91, Pittsville, died on the same day as her husband 46 years ago on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Golden Living Center, Three Oaks, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Pittsville, with Rev. Robert Nelson officiating. Burial will take place in the parish Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Jeff, Russ, Mike, Bill, and Jim Peters, Mitch and Dan Rossow and Zach Miller. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday at Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville, and from 9:30 am on Thursday until service time at St. Joachim Catholic Church. Veronica was born on December 3, 1924 in Bellwood, Nebraska, to Rudolph and Anna (Luft) Korger. She was a 1943 graduate of Pittsville High School. She married Fridolin Peters on March 5, 1946 in Waterloo, Iowa. He died on October 29, 1970. Veronica had been employed at Preway in Wisconsin Rapids and in food service at Mary Heart High School, Pittsville, for 4 years and Pittsville Schools for 17 years and was known as "the lunch lady". She was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church, the Parish Council of Catholic Women, Homemakers Group and Dairyland Cake Decorators. She enjoyed flower gardening and sewing. She also enjoyed cake decoration and made and decorated many beautiful wedding cakes. She is survived by her children, Donald (Kathy) Peters, Robert (Kate) Peters, Glen (Mary) Peters, all of Pittsville, Diane (Tim) Martin of Marshfield, Linda (Wayne) Miller of Loyal and Karen (Dennis) Rossow of Granton. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren which include her grandsons as pallbearers and 3 granddaughters, Renee Sweere, Heidi Carpenter, and Nicole Kremer and 9 great grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother, Carroll "Bud" (Adeline) Korger of Franksville and a sister, Chris (Dave) Minor of Pittsville. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, 2 daughters-in-law, Diane and Shirley Peters and 3 sisters, Laura Rose Hunt, Theresa Gotz and Leona Lyrenmann. Condolences may be sent online to
