VIRGINIA M. NELSON CHESTERTON, IN Virginia M. Nelson, age 86 of Chesterton, IN passed away on March 18, 2017. She was born on April 13, 1930 in Newago, Co. Michigan. On January 17, 1950 she married Guy Nelson, who preceded her in death. Virginia is survived by her son, Lewis Nelson (Greta Burnett) of Hobart, IN; daughters: Linda (John) Prosser of Jupiter, FL, Melanie (Ira) Biggs of Valparaiso, IN; brother, George (Sabina) Nelson of Cedar Springs, MI; sisters: Dorothy Nelson of Novi, MI, Beverly Lewis of Kalamazoo, MI, Gloria (Dan) Stroven of Grant, MI, Donna (Sidney) Dietrich of Lyons, MI; grandchildren: Ira (Tracy) Biggs, Eric (Anna Gianai) Biggs; two great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and special brother in law, Orion Hill. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Susan (Ridderikhoff) Nelson; husband, Guy Nelson; daughter, Trinka Nelson; and several brothers and sisters. Virginia was a retired Accounting Clerk for Porter County and also worked as a Tax Professional for H&R Block. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and knitting. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
