Walter C. Keiper, Sr.AGE: 83 • formerly of WilmingtonWalter C. Keiper, Sr., 83, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2017 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Walter was born on July 26, 1933 in Fairview, NJ to the late Roy and Eva Keiper. He graduated from Camden High in 1951 and served his country in the US Navy during the
Korean War as a flight engineer. He later graduated from Drexel University in 1962 with a BS degree in Commerce and Engineering. He began his career at DuPont in the Photo Products Division in 1962, rising rapidly in the corporation and holding various assignments in international sales including 3 years in Frankfurt, Germany as a Director of Sales. He ultimately retired from DuPont in 1992 and began a second career as a real estate agent with Prudential Fox and Roach, applying his sales skills and spending more quality time with his family. Walter was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and competitive highly decorated skeet, trap and sporting clay shooter. He was a member of the DuPont and Wilmington Country Clubs where he was an active tennis player. He continued his quest for knowledge and self-improvement throughout his retirement by enrolling in the Academy of Lifelong Learning at the University of Delaware. Walter and Nancy were married in 1958 in Havertown, PA. They raised two children, Walter and Mark, spending most of their formative years in Wilmington, DE. Walter believed his greatest achievement in life were his sons and the success they had achieved with his guidance and support. The family would like to thank his wonderful caregivers at Crossroads Hospice and Home Instead Senior Care of Media. He is survived by his wife Nancy, son Walter and his wife Betsy and their children Annalise and Andrea of Center Valley, PA, son Mark and his wife Emily and children Blu and Lake of Omaha, NE, his sister Ginny and husband Ronald Fink and their daughter Stephanie, and additional cousins.
