Lowney, WarrenWarren J. Lowney, age 84, New London, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at his residence. He was born on June 1, 1932, in New London, son of the late John and Nora (Sullivan) Lowney. Warren helped his family with the dairy farm growing up also worked on his neighbors' farms. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Bear Creek and graduated from Bear Creek Senior High School in 1951. On October 26, 1957, Warren was united in marriage to Irene Gorman in the Town of Lebanon. That same year, he began a 38-year career with the Galloway Company in Neenah. He retired in 1994. Warren was the assessor for the Town of Lebanon (Waupaca County) for 36 years, a position he retired from in 1999. In 2010, he had the honor of being the "Irish Man of the Year" in the New Dublin St. Patrick's Day parade, alongside his "Irish Rose" Irene. Being a 100-percent Irishman, the honor allowed Warren a proud opportunity to celebrate his heritage. Warren enjoyed gardening, watching New London Bulldogs basketball and spending time with family and friends. He had the gift of gab - whether in a doctor's office waiting room or at a community event, he could leave knowing the name of everyone there.He is survived by his wife, Irene; children: Pat (Jean) Lowney, Neenah; Cathy Lowney, Seymour; John (Lorelei) Lowney, Fond du Lac; and Mary (Fred) Bellile, New London; grandchildren: Megan (Jake) Stobb, Fond du Lac; Haley Lowney (significant other, Joseph Zompolas), Fond du Lac; Rob (Kelsey) Bellile, Milwaukee; Scott Bellile (significant other, Sarah Kofler), New London; and Emily Lowney, Chicago; three great-grandchildren: Peyton Stobb, Callen Stobb and Hayden Tate; brother, Roger (Mary) Lowney, Kimberly; and a sister-in-law, Barb Lowney, Racine; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Ethel (Maurey) Brockman, Mark (Lorrita) Gorman and Joan Guenther. Warren is further survived by nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bob, a sister Pat (Jim) Murphy, an infant brother David, father and mother in-law, Matt (Katherine) Gorman, and brothers-in-law, Clair Gorman and Francis Rooyakkers.Funeral mass for Warren will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London with Fr. John Kleinschmidt officiating. Visitation will be held at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 1-4 p.m. and also on Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Warren's caregivers, Gladys Niemuth, Audrey McKeever, Josh Gray, ThedaCare Hospice and all the neighbors.
