Detjen, Wayne A.Wayne A. Detjen, 68, Algoma, was called home by our Lord on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. He was born on June 2, 1948 to Ralph and Donna (Kolstad) Detjen. Upon graduating from Algoma High School, Wayne served in the US Army, attended MATC and worked in Milwaukee before returning to Algoma. There he helped create the Living Lakes Expo before joining Wisconsin Label (WS Packaging) where he worked in art/marketing design until his retirement. Wayne married the love of his life, Kathleen Lukes, on October 4, 1975. Together they hand-built their unique dome house and raised three children. Wayne enjoyed many hobbies and projects including "making seagulls," drawing car portraits, planning fun family road trips, singing in choirs, designing/building just about anything with any material and restoring/showing classic cars - most notably, Studebakers. He was a devoted family man, always spending time with his children and grandchildren, and was quick to lend a hand to anyone in need. Wayne will be remembered for his creativity, generosity and faithfulness.Wayne is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy; children Elizabeth (Jason) Melotte, Anne (Andrew Georgenson) Detjen, David (Jennifer) Detjen; grandchildren Ethan and Ainsley Melotte and Jordan Detjen; siblings Babs (Thomas) Lausman of Cumming GA, Randy (Jane) Detjen of Two Rivers, Jeffrey (Ellen) Detjen of Luxemburg, Jodie (Paul) Rodrian of Larkspur CO; sisters-in-law Barbara Lukes of Albuquerque NM and Mary (Keith) Mueller of Fish Creek; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends and neighbors.Friends may call at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma, on Monday, December 19th from 9am until time of service at 11am with Pastor John Moll officiating.
