William Michael Sullivan WAXHAW Mike Sullivan, 58 years of age, died at home, on October 12, 2013, after a valiant battle against esophageal cancer. Mike was born on May 2, 1955, in Charlotte, NC, the son of the late Calvin and Betty Sullivan. He graduated from Harding High School in 1973 and UNCC in 1978. Throughout his career, he utilized his natural mechanical engineering abilities, coupled with his good business sense, to become an owner of a small company, Hydrocorp, which he later merged with another company, Brown & Morrison. His steadfast reliability and integrity made him an asset to any project that he endeavored. He was the "go-to guy" in both his business life as well as for his family. Mike enjoyed playing golf, and was a past member of Rolling Hills Country Club. He had a passion for karate, earning his first-degree black belt at age 51. He loved to take walks and go hiking with his wife and son, and enjoyed family trips to the beach. Mike loved to get together with friends and family members, and he especially enjoyed a good joke. Mike is survived by his wife of 31 years, Laurie, and his son, Sean; other survivors include his sister, Annette Deese and her husband Frank, his sister Diane Sullivan and her husband Chuck, his brother Ben Sullivan and his wife Heidi, his brother Danny Sullivan; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
