William DenisonWilliam S. "Bill" Denison, 75, of Belleville, Illinois, born on Aug. 3, 1941 in Newburg, Ind., died on Oct. 14, 2016 at St. Louis University Hospital with his loving family by his side. Mr. Denison proudly served his country in the
United States Navy from 1959 to 1962. He was an electrician for the Union-Pacific Railroad for 39 years, working his way from apprentice to general foreman. Bill loved being outdoors, either camping, fishing or being the soccer coach at Belle Clair. During his younger years, he was a member of the Order of the Arrow and later in life was the leader of Webelos Den 7 Pack 1 and Assistant Scout Master of Troop 14 in Okaw Valley Council. Bill was the President of the St. Clair Sandbaggers Club as well as a mentor at Jefferson School alongside his wife. In his free time, he enjoyed watching WWF wrestling, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and old western movies, but his most precious moments were those spent with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Mary Jane Boycourt, nee Huffman, Denison.Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Diane Denison, nee Teel; one daughter, Andrea Denison; one son, Matthew (Julie Grimm-Thompson & her children, Abby Thompson, Matt Case & Lauren Case) Denison; his extended family, Dana (Jeremy) Quate, and their daughters, Amaiyah, Evah, Kloe; two fur babies, Luci & Domino; numerous cousins and friends. Mr. Denison's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of St. Louis University Hospital, especially Dr. Santosh, Dr. Belushi, Dr. Prim, Dr. Kumar, and Bill's nurse, Krista. A heartfelt thank you to Dawn Metzger and Lindsay of Mid America Transplant Services for their kindness and compassion.
