William Streit, Jr.1940 - 2014William Streit Jr., 73, of Kenosha passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Brookside Care Center in Kenosha.William was born on July 6, 1940, in Kenosha, the son of the late William and Pearl (Fischer) Streit Sr. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha. William married Helene Duddy in 1965, after Helene passing, he married, Jane Goroski on Aug. 11, 2007. William was a member of the U.S. Navy, retiring from service in 1976. After retiring he was a Naval Instructor at Great Lakes Naval Base. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. His hobbies included traveling around South Dakota and the U.S. taking Sunday drives, cheering for the Bears, going to Casinos, shopping, and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Even after all the years on the waters in the Navy, William always enjoyed being near Lake Michigan, be it walking his dog or just driving by.William is survived by his wife, Jane Goroski of Kenosha; his children, Lisa (Roger) McDaniels of N.C., Anthony (Lisa Barbieri) Streit of Pleasant Prairie, Jennifer (Jason) Ekornaas of Burlington; a half-sister, Debbie (Gary) Pittman of Indiana; and his grandchildren, Emma and Owen McDaniels, Jacob Streit, and Alena Ekornaas; William was preceded in death by his first wife, Helene.A memorial gathering will take place on Monday, May 12, 2014, at Kenosha Funeral Services from 4-6 p.m. with Memorial services to follow at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be appreciated.Kenosha Funeral Services & Crematory8226 Sheridan Rd.Kenosha, WI 53143(262) 652-1943 www.kenosha-funeral-services.com
