Zakrzewski, WilliamWilliam Fredrick Zakrzewski left this world for boundless fields, lush forests and clear lakes on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, at home in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He was 80.A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Visitation will be in the St. Faustina Room of the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery.William was born on October 10, 1936, in Stevens Point, to Lawrence and Daisy. He graduated in 1956 from P.J. Jacobs High School, where he played and enjoyed many sports.William enjoyed a 40-year career with the state of Wisconsin Department of Transportation as a technical engineer. He took pride in the construction of countless highways, county roads and the interstate system.As an avid outdoorsman, his true passion was found in nature. From numerous hunting and fishing trips to the American West and Canada to cultivating backyard animal and bird sanctuaries, trees, and gardens, William poured his spirit as water into the earth.William enjoyed the company of all of his dogs throughout his life and took a special interest and love in woodworking, which he passed to his son Bob.William will be remembered for his quiet wisdom, sweet soul, great stories, and quick wit. His deep nature reflected in his baby blue eyes and knowing smirk.His proudest work was welcoming three children into the world: Lori, William and Robert.William lives on through his children, Lori (Greg) Schultz, and Robert Zakrzewski; his grandchildren, Ben and Jordan Schultz, John and Clint Jennings, and Trevor and Hanna Zakrzewski; his great-grandchildren, Malachi and Milo Jennings; his siblings, Marge Yokers, Nancy Pliska, and Sandra Schude; and many nieces and nephews.
