Adam "Audie" BrandtMANSFIELD: Adam "Audie" Brandt, 93, of Mansfield passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Mansfield Memorial Homes. He was born on October 19, 1923 in Mansfield to Adam and Sophie (Reiter) Brandt. Audie was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and then received his bachelor of science in education degree from Ohio State University in 1949. He was employed at Empire Detroit Steel for 36 years and proudly served in the United States Navy. Audie had been a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed golfing at Twin Lakes, bowling and mostly traveling especially going on cruises. Audie is survived by his wife of seventy one years, Betty L. Brandt; two sons, Michael (Ann) Brandt of Greenville, SC, and Joseph Brandt of Mansfield; a daughter, Patricia (Ron) Hess of Dayton; three grandchildren, Alexa Brandt of South Carolina, Casey Hess and Bradley Hess of Dayton; three brothers, Kenny (Mary Lynn) Brandt of South Carolina, Jimmy (Joanne) Brandt of Mansfield, and Walter (Carol) Brandt of Mansfield; four sisters, Margaret Cochran of Mansfield, Sophie Clark of Mansfield, Kay Ciment of Woodland Hills, California, and Linda (Ernie) Johnson of Mansfield, a sister-in-law Gerry Brandt of Mansfield, and numerous nieces, nephews and many other family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Jack Brandt, two brothers-in-law, Larry Ciment and William Cochran; and a sister-in-law, Linda Brandt.There will be no services observed at this time.
