Adam F. Marquez lost his six-year battle with cancer on Saturday, May 17, 2014, as he was surrounded by his loving family.Adam was born on May 6, 1980 in Roswell. He and his family moved to Las Vegas and was a 1998 graduate of West Las Vegas High School. Shortly after graduation, he moved to Arizona, where he attended the University of Technical Industries specializing in diesel engines and refrigeration earning his bachelor's degree.While going to school in Arizona he met the love of his life, Lisa, and shortly after moved back to Las Vegas, where he worked for Las Vegas Diesel Repair prior to moving to Albuquerque where he currently resided.Adam is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alicia and Daniel Salazar; and paternal grandparents, Alex and Tessie Marquez.Adam is survived by his wife, Lisa, and their three children, Daniel, Aidan and Mercedez Marquez; his mother and step-father, Lorraine and Bobby Padilla; his father Walter and Rebecca Marquez Sr.; brother, Walter Marquez Jr. and fiancée, Nikki Ramirez; niece, Jordan Alicia Marquez; nephew, Jacob Anthony Marquez; aunt and uncle, Laurieann and Mario Chavez; cousins, Mario Daniel and Jennifer Ann Chavez; paternal aunts and uncles, Alex Marquez (Pauline), Gloria Martinez (Michael), Christine Montoya, Roger Marquez (Connie), Mitchell Marquez, Angela Guerin (David), Virginia Trujillo (Ralph), Diann Valdez (Frank), Cynthia Marquez, Ralph Marquez (Theresa) and Noel Marquez; father-in-law, Thomas Duncan (Denise); mother-in-law, Marlena Duncan (Kevin); brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Carol Duncan, Tanya and Frank Bench, Christopher Duncan, Sabrina Duncan and Brandon Duncan; nieces and nephews, Kody, Valori, Madison, and Clayton.Adam loved his family, as they were everything to him. He enjoyed drawing and painting and was most proud of the illustration of GiGi the Flea. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Yankees fan. Adam was a kind and loving man, always ready to help anyone in need. He had many friends he loved and cared about that he treated as family.Funeral services for Adam will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church as follows: Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. today (Wednesday); funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. George Salazar at 9 a.m. Thursday. Interment will follow the mass at the Saint Anthony Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are his children, Daniel, Aidan and Mercedez Marquez along with Jordan and Jacob Marquez, Alex Romero Jr. and the remainder of his family and friends.
