Agnes FortierMelbourne BeachAgnes Claire Fortier, known to many as "Nana", 97, of Melbourne Beach, passed away on May 3, 2017. She was born on August 5, 1919 in Dorchester, MA to the late Arthur and Delia Hubbard. She was raised in MA and has resided in Melbourne Beach for the last 4 years. Agnes enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, and listening to her favorite singer, Daniel O'Donnel. She was an avid Red Sox fan, her favorite player was Dustin Pedroia. She had great love and devotion to her family and cherished spending time with them.She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years; George H. Fortier, who she married upon his return from service in WWII as a medic for four years, and 5 siblings.Agnes is survived by her loving children; Diane Baldner, Tom Fortier (Claire), Don Fortier (Colleen), Joe Fortier (Lori), and Laurie Flutie (Doug), 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and a large loving extended family.A visitation will be held from 6-8pm at Beach Funeral Homes - East, Indian Harbour Beach, on Monday, May 8, 2017 with a wake service to begin at 7pm.Agnes had a special bond with her grandson, Dougie Flutie Jr., and asks that memorial contributions be sent to his Foundation for Autism at www.flutiefoundation.org, 1001 Worcester Road 2nd Floor, Framingham, MA. 01701.Agnes' memorial page may be visited at www.beachfuneralhome.com
