Albert Charles Mason, 76, the beloved husband of the late Eunice Ann Mason, since 1967, of East Hartford passed away unexpectedly, on November 11, 2016 at Riverside Healthcare. Albert was born on April 8, 1940 in Hartford CT, to the late Sylvester G. Mason and Alberta B. Henry previously residing in Plainville and Harford, CT before settling in East Hartford in 1979. He graduated Plainville High School in 1958. Albert was employed by Clarence Welti of Glastonbury and retired from Guild Drilling of East Providence RI after 30 years. He enjoyed tending to his vegetable gardens, fishing, cooking and he was an avid fan of auto racing, he spent most of his time talking and laughing with his brother. Albert will be most remembered for his countless hours of conversation with his brother and friends down at the coffee shop. Albert will be dearly missed by his son, Alan Mason of Enfield CT and his wife Lanie, daughter Patricia Mason of Windsor CT, brother Sylvester Mason of East Hartford, cherished grandchildren: Cassanda Lamarre, Cameron Mason, Mackenzie Mason, Alaina Mason, Addison Shaffer and Landon Shaffer, many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Albert is predeceased by his wife Eunice Mason, brother Douglas Henry Mason, and his sister Kathryn Elizabeth Nixon. Friends and family are invited to gather on Friday, November 18, 2016 from 10am-12pm at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford CT 06108. A service celebrating Albert's life will follow immediately at 12noon at the funeral home. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family.
