Albert Hugh McManus, lovingly known as Hugh to his family and friends, passed away on July 19, 2024, in Groom, Texas at the age of 84. Born on October 29, 1939, to Albert McManus Sr. and Alice McCoy-Escoffier, Hugh had a full and vibrant life.

Hugh leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his four children: Jeffery McManus, Madison Hugh McManus, Carissa Bennett spouse Larry Bennett, and Brandon McManus.

Hugh is also survived by his six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Hugh also has two brothers Ronald McManus, preceded in death, and Paul McManus, surviving.

Hugh was a proud Navy veteran and later pursued a career as a Cowboy, where he made lasting friendships and touched the lives of many. In his free time, he enjoyed working as a local carpenter, honing his skills and creating beautiful pieces for his loved ones.

Although Hugh may no longer be with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.

Rest in peace, Hugh. May your spirit continue to inspire us all.

Details: There will be a gathering held at the Legion Hall here in Groom following the service. All are welcomed to join for snacks, drinks, and desert. We hope to share stories and laughter. The locations is south of the grain elevators, north of the baseball field.
