Albert LaFranceStuart, FL Al transitioned from this world to the next on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Martin Memorial South. He was surrounded by family and others who were praying for him and singing his favorite hymns. At 7:11 am., Al stepped into the presence of Jesus, into his heavenly reward, and was reunited with his parents, other family members and friends. Al was a kind and gentle man who had a servant's heart for God. Always available to help in any way needed at his church, St. Joseph's Catholic, he volunteered tirelessly at their St. Vincent dePaul Society office. Al was born on July 20, 1933 in Omaha, Neb. to his parents, Raoul and Virginia LaFrance. The family moved to Mankato, Minn. where Al was raised along with his three brothers and sister. He graduated from Mankato State University. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He moved to Stuart from Miami in 2000 to be closer to his precious, beloved daughter, Julie LaFrance Lentine. He was a devoted father to her, loving father-in-law to Lou, and adoring grandfather to Nicholas. Al is survived by his sister Ginny and his brothers, Pete and Mike and their families, including many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Julie's mother, Sally Miles LaFrance Long. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Gene. Although we are saddened by this temporary separation from Al at his death, his family would like to invite his church family and friends to a celebration of his life.
